Nevada Real Estate:Real estate investments have been great in Nevada for years. Seldom do investments pay like Nevada real estate. This has been a boom area specifically around Reno and Las Vegas. Agents will help retirees find golf, hiking, the home they want all with warm winters and plenty to do including gaming to occupy their days. Condo, loft, new houses, retirement communities are popular. We say that the area is a boom area and that's right but it has cooled significantly with recent foreclosures up dramatically. Additionally people aren't moving here in droves as before. In 2000, Nevada was the highest growth rate state in America. Today, unemployment is up at 12.6%, which is among the highest in America. This is a tourist state primarily, gambling being the biggest attraction. According to RealtyTrack "In Nevada, one in every 122 households received a foreclosure-related notice last month, more than four times the national rate." These are big numbers, meaning there are a lot of homes on the market making it a buyers market! Sales are so slow in Las Vegas some builders cut prices dramatically. Good time to buy? Depends! I hate someone to tell me it depends, but if you have good credit, have a good down payment (more than 20% of the cost of the property), have steady employment with excellent promise it will continue, then the answer is: look for the best bargins available, and there are many now! Well, anybody knows that. If you didn't ... now you do. Start with a reputable real estate agent. Some homes are selling at a 50% discount! Why is the news of dropping prices good for home buyers? No brain surgeron needed for that! Because the price is coming down as the inventory goes up. So buyers just hang on a while longer for better prices. Sellers, it's not too late to get out. There's more on the downside to come. If you're in a home now and are feeling the squeeze here's how you avoid foreclosure! Prices are down about 17% from this time last year. Gold, silver, timber, other minerals and the quest for more property made Nevada what it is today. And it is today what many of us want for our lives. Excitement, good climate and the beautiful Sierra Nevadas. A realtor / broker has an MLS listing for a house that will please you in every way. Homes for sale in the Reno are not for the timid however. Prices have escalated dramatically in the last 10 years for good reason. Paradise, found by a realty company, can be your dream. Before the days of written record the history of man in Nevada dates back as much as 10 to 12,000 years. But even before man roamed around the deserts, about 20 to 30 thousand years ago, the territory of Nevada and most of the west was going through the end of the great Ice Age or Glacial Period known as the Pleistocene. The higher mountains were still covered with ice, and many of the higher valleys were filled with glaciers while the lower basins were filled with great lakes which were frozen in the winters. Each summer the lakes would melt and as the centuries passed by the ice on the mountains would slip further and further away. As they melted and ran into the lakes below keeping them full the land eroded into rivers and then dried up to make valleys and gullies. All of this water kept the area that is now a desert covered in lush vegetation. The early days of this metamorphous would find animals that were accustomed to the cold such as the wooly mammoth, the caribou and the musk ox. Want more? .. History thanks to Nevada-history.org.
